The service on Friday was such a wonderful tribute to our Aunty Ethel. She truly was one of a kind. I have so many memories of Aunty Ethel, not the least of which was the beautiful dress she made for me for my first Christmas Concert in Chelan Hall snd the butter tarts she made on a wood stove which would melt in your mouth. We all benefited from her many, many talents. Loved her dearly. She will be missed.

What an amazing wonderful tribute to Aunty Ethel she would have been so proud of each member of her familiy. She was a kind loving aunt whom I will miss. I thank her for everything she taught me over the years and it's wonderful to know she is with all those who have gone before her, the poem in her perfect penmanship was such a wonderful way for her to let us truly celebrate her life shed a tear and know that she is in a place free of her pain...rest in peace💗💗

Dear Grandma Smith, the best and most cherished memory I have of you is when Dave and I visited in 2009. You were still in the condo in McKay towers and it had been a long time since we last saw each other. Although we had corresponded through the mail over the years, I never got to know you until June 30, 2009. It was then that I learned of your life, hardships and joys. You must have been an extremely strong and resilient woman and I wish I had known you in your younger years. We sat at your kitchen table, we laughed, cried and embraced each other. We had tea together, smoked a cigarette and nearly had a shot of rye, but the bottle just stayed in the pantry, untouched. It was such an incredible experience to spend quality time with my paternal grandmother. I will love you forever and cherish the traits you passed onto me. My inner strength comes from you and I am grateful to know that. Rest in peace, dear grandma. With all my love Sue Maus

To Auntie's Family, We are saddened to hear of Aunti'e passing. She was the last of her siblings and, indeed, lived a good life. She was always the first to send you a note of encouragement and I will never forget her for that. She was the first to send me a card and a poem on more than one occasion. She taught Fran & I how to make crafts of all kinds. She had patience and a quick wit. She will be remembered and loved. We are thinking of all her children today. Love Verna, Lorne & Auntie Elsie

To all Aunty Ethel's Family,our deepest sympathy. I have many fond memories of Aunty,my favorite one is the time the telephone office in Chelan was on fire, Verna and I ran to Aunty's house to tell her the post office was next, she took off running to Nellie Holth's with us trying to keep up with her, there was a small fence between Chysk's and Nellie's, she cleared that fence with room to spare, we couldn't believe it! Most of all, I remember her laugh, she had a beautiful smile! Thinking of you all.Your cousin Bev.
